After many years working in the NHS and private clinics, we often felt appointments were rushed and follow‑ups too brief. We wanted to create something different – a service where people are given time and truly personal care.
Boars Hill Hearing provides home visit audiology services for people with hearing loss and tinnitus in Oxford and the surrounding area. Our aim is to improve your quality of life by offering personalised solutions, clear expert advice and the most suitable, up‑to‑date hearing technology for your needs.
Meet the team
Lawrence Hill is one of the few audiologists with a doctorate in Audiology. After his undergraduate qualification he completed a master’s at UCL London with a further three years post Masters training at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Paediatrics, Complex adults and Vestibular (dizzy) patients finally completing a Doctorate in Audiology in 2020.
In 2023 he and the family spent a year volunteering in Malawi, East Africa where he lectured in the only audiology degree program in central Africa and was the clinical manager at the hearing clinic in Lilongwe.
He now lectures part time at Middlesex University.
Lawrence has a broad range of experience in different audiology settings, from large NHS hospitals, managing the Audiology service on the Island of Guernsey and working in the private and voluntary sector.

Charmaine is Lawrence’s wife and mum to three boys, plus a cat and a lively cocker spaniel. She first worked in marketing before retraining as a Foot Health Professional at the SMAE Institute in Maidenhead in 2015.
During the family’s year in Malawi, Charmaine took on the role of Business and Finance Manager at a hearing clinic in Lilongwe where she helped the staff set up financial and business systems leaving the clinic with a local finance manager who continues to oversee the clinics day to day.
She had her own successful footcare business in Guernsey and in Oxford before she took the leap to join Boars Hill Hearing full time. As business manager, she looks after the admin, finance and marketing, and helps to guide the business as a whole.”

We provide professional home-visit audiology services across Oxfordshire. Based in Boars Hill, we typically cover a 10–15 mile radius, including Oxford city and surrounding villages to ensure dedicated local care.
We offer services to the Oxfordshire area including but not limited to:
Abingdon, Appleton, Boars Hill, Botley, Cumnor, Eynsham, Farmoor, Farringdon, Hinksey, Kennington, Kingston Bagpuise, Marcham, Sunningwell, Southmoor and Tubney to name a few.
We can also pop onto the ring road and travel to other areas of Oxford so if you are in Summertown, Kidlington, Yarnton, Headington, Littlemore, Cassington, Wolvercote, Marston. Don't hesitate to get in touch!
